American rapper FGB Cash has reportedly been fatally shot.
The artist, real name Tristian Hamilton, was in a car with a woman when someone opened fire on them at around 5.30am.
The shooting took place in the city’s Auburn Gresham neighbourhood, according to reports.
Police said that another vehicle pulled up next to them and fired several rounds into their car before fleeing.
Both victims were taken to hospital, where Hamilton, 31, was pronounced dead.
The unnamed woman, 29, is said to be in critical condition after suffering gunshot wounds to her arm and upper back.
The shooter is said to be still at large.
CBS also reported that the pair were driving around and that the woman was asleep in the car when the shooting happened.
Tributes have already been pouring in for the late star, with one fan writing on Twitter: "Rest in power #fbgcash Gone too soon. Prayers for his family and friends."
Another added: "Damn… Rest In Peace FBG Cash… I’m really shock for words…"
"FBG Cash seemed different. He wasn't like the rest of the guys. He seemed a bit more mature. Rest Up Cash," someone else tweeted.
Hamilton’s death comes just 12 hours before his newest single Crazy Lane was about to drop.
He was a member of the Fly Boy Gang – only last year one of them was also fatally shot.
FBG Duck, whose real name was Carlton Weekly, was shot dead last year by four masked shooters, who left behind 38 bullet casings.
He was reportedly killed while out shopping for his son’s birthday present.
The shocking moment was captured on camera as FBG was seen lying on the ground, still moving in front of a parked car.
FBG was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital after suffering gunshot wounds to his chest, groin and neck, according to reports.
At the time former mayoral candidate Ja'Mal Green took to Twitter saying: "Popular rapper FBG Duck has just been pronounced dead after being shot in the Gold Coast an hour ago. Prayers up for his family, bring justice to them after this senseless act."
