A GIRL, five, who beat cancer as a toddler has been killed after being hit by a runaway car, according to reports.
Camila de Almeida Torcato, from Toronto, Canada, was diagnosed with the deadly disease aged two.
She battled through rounds of gruelling surgery and chemotherapy to successfully fight off the illness.
After receiving the all-clear to start school, Camila had begun nursery in September, The Toronto Star reports.
But her life was tragically ended just a few short months later when she and her dad were hit by a car as he picked her up from St Raphael Catholic School.
Distraught Amilcar Torcato told the paper how the vehicle with no driver rolled towards them, pinning them against his car.
He said he couldn’t remember how long they remained trapped before they were freed.
But as he lay recovering in his hospital bed he was given the devastating news that his little girl’s organs were failing.
She died on Monday night after suffering internal bleeding.
Emotional Amilcar is quoted as saying: “She was a very special girl – she had problems before, she had cancer – but she was a fighter.”
