Selena Gomez Is 'So Excited' About Working With Cara Delevingne on 'Only Murders in the Building' Season 2

Selena Gomez and Cara Delevingne have been friends for years, and now they are co-workers! The two stars are currently filming season 2 of Only Murders in the Building together.

Here’s everything we know about Delevingne’s new role and what Gomez said about working with her.

Selena Gomez and Cara Delevingne have been spending a lot of time together

Delevingne and Gomez have been friends for years. They were most recently spotted together at a New York Knicks game in Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, Nov. 17.

The Fenty model and the Wizards of Waverly Place actor shared a cute moment when they appeared on the jumbotron. Gomez leaned over and kissed Delevingne briefly on the cheek as they both smiled and laughed.

The two friends have been photographed together countless times over the years. They have posed together at events but also bonded away from red carpets on vacations in helicopters and yachts.

Selena Gomez said working with Cara Delevingne is ‘so much fun’

Delevingne has a new role on the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building, a show starring and executive produced by Gomez. The model will be a cast member in season 2.

Although there is no premiere date set for the new season, it is currently filming and could come out as early as mid-2022. According to Elle, Delevingne will play a character named Alice, “a sophisticated art world insider who becomes enmeshed in the mystery.”

In a Dec. 6 interview with Extra, Gomez shared that she’s “so excited” about working with Delevingne.

“We just did our first day together yesterday, and it’s so much fun working with your friends. We had never worked together – actually, we did, a long time ago, but something completely different – and so, it’s so fun! We were just dying of laughing most of the time because we just know each other so well.”

When asked if she had anything to do with casting Delevingne, Gomez responded, “Well, they actually wanted her, and then I was just like, giving them a little push.”

The two stars previously worked together on Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ music video

Gomez mentioned that she and Delevingne had worked together before “a long time ago,” and she was likely referring to Taylor’s Swift’s 2015 “Bad Blood” video.

Swift’s music video was full of her famous “squad” members, including Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Ellie Goulding, Hailee Steinfeld, Zendaya, Ellen Pompeo, Lena Dunham, Jessica Alba, Cindy Crawford, Mariska Hargitay, Hayley Williams, and more. Cara Delevingne also made an appearance, and Gomez starred as Swift’s nemesis in the video.

But in real life, Gomez and Swift are far from being enemies. They have been friends for years and gushed about each other in various interviews.
