There’s a new broadband supplier in town… and it’s likely already available in your street. Middlesbrough-based company File Sanctuary is offering full-fibre broadband for the first time. Speeds vary from 67Mbps, which is a little under the average download speed of 71Mbps recorded earlier this year, to a maximum of 900Mbps.
All of File Sanctuary’s bundles arrive with unlimited downloads, so you won’t need to worry about any extra charges if you download a new operating system, stream Netflix every waking minute of the day, or continue working from home.
Best of all, File Sanctuary is likely already available in your area. That’s because the brand will rely on BT’s Openreach network, which already covers around 84 percent of homes in England. This should enable File Sanctuary to reach millions of people within days of launching. That’s faster than other newcomers, like Community Fibre, Zzoomm, G.Network, and CityFibre, that have decided to build an alternative network to BT.
Interestingly, File Sanctuary will only be available in areas where Openreach has upgraded the cable infrastructure to gigabit-capable full-fibre. Gigabit speeds – 1,000Mbps download speeds, or around 14x faster than the current UK average home internet speed – are only possible when the connection between your broadband supplier, the network, and your house is made using fibre-optic cables instead of the copper phone lines used in the past. Full-fibre connections are more reliable too, as the performance of copper cables can be adversely impacted by bad weather.

Openreach has already connected around 4.6million premises to its gigabit-capable full-fibre network, with plans to reach 25 million by December 2026. So, there’s no shortage of potential customers for new-kid-on-the-block File Sanctuary.
File Sanctuary have a 12-month minimum term – half that you’ll get with BT for the same speeds, on the same network. That means you’ll be free to shop around for better deals, or speeds, much sooner.
In addition, customer support for File Sanctuary is all UK based, and they fully support both IPv4 and IPv6 internet addresses on their network.
