Gushing about the name that the former actress and her husband Prince Harry picked for their second child, the media mogul says, ‘I think it’s the best possible name in the world.’
AceShowbiz -There is a reason why Oprah Winfrey isn’t really thinking seriously about the possibility of her becoming the godmother to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s daughter Lilibet. Responding to the buzzing speculation, the former daytime talk show queen is confident that she’s already a godmother by default to the couple’s newborn daughter.
Oprah addressed the rumors while sitting down with Entertainment Weekly. “I don’t need to be a godmother, I’m a godmother by default,” she told the outlet with a smile. On the reason why she believes so, the 67-year-old divulged, “I’m a neighbor, I’m a friend and all that.”
While Oprah is close to the Sussexes, she hinted that she might not fit the role of an official godmother due to one particular reason. “You probably need someone younger to be the godmother,” she explained. Nevertheless, she added of the family of four, “I’m so excited and so happy for them.”
During the interview, Oprah also weighed in on the name that Meghan and Harry picked for their second child. “I think it’s the best possible name in the world,” she gushed, adding “I love that name… and I’ve gotta send them something really special for Father’s Day.”
Meghan and Harry welcomed their second child, Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor, on June 4. “Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales,” their statement read.
In other news, it has been reported that Meghan is set to give her first interview since becoming a mother of two. The 39-year-old will speak about her debut children’s book, “The Bench”, on NPR with Samantha Balaban, according to royals editor Omid Scobie. The interview will air Sunday between 8 A.M. and 10 A.M. ET.
