Pete Doherty looked worlds away from his drug-fuelled bad boy days as he was seen rocking a grey beard in a snap of himself looking happy and healthy.
The former frontman to The Libertines and Babyshambles has moved out of the UK to Normandy in France with his film editor girlfriend Katia de Vidas.
The 42-year-old musician showed off his new look while posing for a photo alongside French author Thierry Lepoire that was later posted on Instagram.
In the caption, Pete revealed Thierry is his neighbour and enjoys his company.
Pete wrote: “A splendid neighbour and a splendid writer!”
In recent times, Pete has looked happier while sporting a fuller physique compared with his skinnier frame during the days as a full-time rockstar.
The photo shows Pete wearing a blue striped t-shirt with long dishevelled locks, as well as a grey beard.
He has also reportedly taken up the bowls-style sport, pétanque, as he lives his life at a much slower pace.
Pete has already credited the move as the reason behind his happiness and appearance with him now enjoying sleeping and eating French cuisine.
From local cheeses to pastries such as Bout de Choux, Pete is adapting to life as a French local.
In an article on The Sun, Pete’s new 'guilty pleasure' is sleeping after stating he used to stay up for 'six days' before crashing to sleep for almost 24 hours.
The once-troubled star has quit heroin and ketamine but still enjoys a cocktail as he relaxes.
One local told the Sun: "Peter is no longer a bad boy. He's relaxing, settling down and loving the goods things in life.

Although he has taken to France well, he admitted to The Sun that he would love some fast food but there are no takeaway shops where he lives.
He said: “I’d have a Big Mac if I could, but I can’t. The nearest McDonalds is 40 minutes away.”
