Coronation Street fans claim abusive Geoff Metcalfe will be KILLED OFF by falling in a sinkhole ahead of the soap’s 60th Anniversary
Coronation Street fans have become convinced that abusive Geoff Metcalfe could be killed off after his controlling ways are exposed.
Fans have been furious to see Geoff avoid jail time for threatening his wife Yasmeen, who was thrown behind bars after defending herself by stabbing him with a bottle.
But ever-vocal soap fans have taken to a Digital Spy Forum to form a dark theory that Geoff could be killed off ahead of the soap’s 60th anniversary in December, setting the stage for a dark Whodunnit?

Fans have been waiting to see when Geoff’s (played by Ian Bartholomew) abuse is finally revealed, after bosses hinted the dark coercive control storyline could continue until the end of the year.
For weeks Geoff has tried to imply that Yasmeen (Shelley King) abused him, and even deleted CCTV footage from their home to hide the truth from his family.
This has included his son Tim (Joe Duttine), who has sparked a rift with his wife Sally (Sally Dyvenor) by defending him.
As fans theorised what they could expect from the 60th anniversary special later this year, one formed a dark theory that Geoff could meet a grisly fate by falling into a sinkhole, which bosses have already confirmed will play a big role in the episodes.
Fighting back: Fans have taken to a forum to claim that Geoff could be at the centre of a dramatic Whodunnit? during the soap’s 60th Anniversary episodes
They wrote: ‘Who killed Geoff Metcalfe storyline for the anniversary episode.’
Another added: ‘The sinkhole would be good but maybe somewhere else? Geoff has been killed in a major who dunnit storyline, the body is buried but a sinkhole appears where the body has been buried.’
A fan also posted: ‘Do Geoff murder at Halloween and reveal it during the 60th anniversary live episode (if they were planning of doing one).’
What did he do? Geoff’s behaviour has already sparked rifts with some of his family, which could turn deadly if his son Tim ever discovered the truth
In recent weeks fans have seen the rest of Corrie’s locals begin to see that Geoff may not be as innocent as he seems, including Sally, who appeared to recognise Yasmeen’s ordeal from her own experience with domestic abuse.
Yasmeen’s granddaughter Alya Nazir has also been determined to clear her name, and in the coming days will taunt Geoff after learning her gran has survived her heart operation.
Fans will have to wait and see whether Geoff’s abusive behaviour will finally be exposed, and if Yasmeen can finally clear her name.
