Rei Kawakubo‘s COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT has released its collaborative capsule collection with Futura, delivering 12 pieces covered in the artist’s signature bright graffiti motif.
The collection was debuted back in January at Paris Fashion Week alongside collaborations with Spalwart and ASICS, the latter having been recently unveiled in a series of official images. For its collaboration with Futura, CDG SHIRT offers two coach jackets, two long-sleeve shirts, four T-shirts, and four bags.
Each piece is covered in the colorful graffiti that is synonymous with Futura’s aesthetic. There are three prints throughout the collection, and all have been reimagined by Kawakubo through applying prints, paneling, and cutouts, which give each piece somewhat of a collage-like feel.
For a few of the pieces, the duo has incorporated Futura’s signature Pointman character into the graffiti design, appearing as if it has been spraypainted in white on top of the print. The Futura x COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT FW20 collection is currently available at Dover Street Market stores and on its website, with prices ranging from $115 USD to $1,215 USD.
