Emmerdale star Chris Chittell has revealed how his attempt at trimming his own hair went rather wrong.
Much like a lot of us in lockdown, the legendary actor — known for portraying icon Eric Pollard in the long-running ITV soap — planned on trimming his own hair.
Chris revealed he was using clippers to do so, but he seemingly got the settings wrong and ended up shaving two tracks down each side of his head.
He posted the hair nightmare on Facebook — using an up-close picture of the side of his head.
He captioned the post with: ‘Double oooops.’
‘Double cos it’s on t’other side as well stupidly put the wrong attachment and had not used the mirror!! Duh!!!’
Chris has featured in Emmerdale since 1986 — making him the soap’s longest-serving cast member.
Eric has been featured in a number of huge storylines over the last year, from his romance with Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter), to being son David Metcalfe’s (Matthew Wolfenden) support amid the Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) narrative.

More recently, Eric has struck up a friendship with Brenda Walker — portrayed by Chris’ real-life wife, Lesley Dunlop — and has been incredibly supportive towards her as she feels guilty over what happened to Dan Spencer (Lisa Fox).
