If you’re a Huawei fan then there’s an exciting day ahead. The Chinese tech firm is about to unleash its new P40 Pro on the world and it looks set to arrive packed with some very premium features.
Although nothing has yet been confirmed, all rumours suggest the P40 will get a new curved display, faster Kirin 990 processor and a refreshed camera which may bring an improved zoom to this device.
Other extras could include access to 5G download speeds and much better battery life.
Express.co.uk has already been hands-on with the P40 Pro and – despite it being hidden inside a box – Huawei hinted that the device will tote “market leading sensor technology” and “advanced periscope camera technology”.
Huawei’s big keynote begins at 1pm today and it’s worth tuning into if you love the P series of phones.
So, that’s the good news about the P40 but there is one thing to note and it will give the older P30 Pro a massive advantage.

With the US Huawei ban still in full force, the firm can’t offer access to the Google’s apps.
That means this new flagship won’t support things such as Google Chrome, Google Maps or Gmail.
Worse still is there’s also no Google Play Store on this phone which means it will be much harder to install popular games and services including WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram.
Instead of the Play Store, you’ll have to make do with Huawei’s AppGallery. This is pretty new and doesn’t have anywhere near the same robust set of apps as its Google counterpart.
Luckily for P30 Pro owners, the block came into force long after this device was launched so anyone owning one has full access to every app on the planet – and that’s one big advantage.
It’s worth noting that you can always download third-party app stores or sideload Google onto the device. However, the latter is not endorsed by either Google or Huawei and both are still additional hurdles the user needs to clear.
