Simon Cowell supports Phillip Schofield for coming out and says he’d do same

X Factor boss Simon Cowell praised This Morning host Phillip Schofield for opening up about his sexuality, calling it "a very positive thing."

The music mogul, who is currently filming Britain's Got Talent, admitted his sexuality has been well-talked about over the years, and confessed he would tell people if he was gay and wouldn't "hide".

Speaking on talkRADIO, the Syco boss said: "It makes me laugh, because 20 years ago I would be doing interviews and the first question would be, ‘Are you gay?’ and I would say, ‘No’.

"They would say, ‘Yes you are!’ and I’d go, ‘Do you honestly think it would be a problem if I was? And that I would hide it like there is something wrong?’ I told them, ‘If I was, I would tell you’.
