WE ALL know that feeling of dread that comes when you knock over a bottle of nail polish and can already see the stain forming.
But this needn’t be the case as one woman has shared a genius hack for preventing a stain, and all you’ll need is some sugar.
The tip was discovered when a mum shopping at US beauty outlet, Ulta saw how a sales assistant cleared up the makeup.
Sharing the hack on social media she wrote: “I was in Ulta today and a sales lady dropped nail polish.
“They immediately began pouring sugar on it. Did you know sugar makes nail polish clump up and you can sweep it right off the floor?
“No scrubbing needed. Where has this been my whole life?”
The viral tip was shared on the Facebook group Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It, and has received over 1,000 likes from grateful mums.
Commenting on the post one wrote: “Remember this the next time our girls try to paint their nails, carpet, floor and couch.”
“Wow, I never knew that, defo keeping sugar handy from now on” said another.
A third agreed: “Great tip. And it beats acetone! Thanks.”
It seems that the handy hint is legit having been tried and tested by several cleaning bloggers including Katie Berry, who also recommend table salt for the same result.
Katie says that the tip also works on clothing and upholstery but will need paper towels to “blot the spill.”
In other cleaning news, this mum claims £1 vinegar is the secret to beautifully smelling clothes.
Plus this savvy mum makes her dirty fake white Christmas tree look brand new again using a £1 spray from The Range.
And this cleaning-mad mum transformed her rust stained furniture in minutes using tin foil and ketchup.
