MAGICAL (Evsf) was just that as she capped off a wonderful season with victory in the Champion Stakes.
Donnacha O'Brien always had his mount in the right place and saw off the late challenge of Addeybb (5-1) with ease.
Aidan O'Brien's hardy mare followed up victories in last year's Fillies and Mares and this season's Irish Champion Stakes, proving once and for all that she's capable of beating the best.
Donnacha O'Brien had his mount settled nicely in the box seat and as soon as he hit the button, the race was put to bed.
Although this wasn't the classiest renewal of the race, there were few who would have had the speed to get past her as she kept the staying-on Addeybb firmly at bay.
William Haggas' mudlark tried valiantly to get to the leader but his efforts were in vain, as were those of Japanese raider Deirdre (10-1), who couldn't quicken in the ground but stayed on well for third.
A thrilled Donnacha O'Brien said: "She's a really, really good mare.
"You won't find a better looking racehorse, she has a great attitude and is everything you'd want.
"I kept hands and heels for as long as I could so that when I did let a little bit out I knew I'd have a bit left."
