If you spent your post-Mother’s Day brunch intermittently napping on the couch and scrolling through Instagram, you’re not alone (Bloody Marys and Eggs Benedict are basically Ambien). That also means you may have noticed something a little strange on your IG feed – all of your fave celeb moms were wearing the same thing! It’s not coincidence, and it’s not conspiracy – it turns out they were twinning for a really important cause.
In honor of the holiday, more than 65 celeb moms teamed up with Families Belong Together and the Phenomenal Woman Action Campaign to kick off Phenomenal Mother. The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness of the families who are in crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border — both the families who are currently fleeing horrendous conditions in their home countries, and those who are separated completely after trying to seek refuge over the border.
Proceeds from the Phenomenal Mother shirt (which retails for $35 and is available in sizes S-3XL) will go to the Families Belong Together organization, which is helping families at the border access shelter, food, water, medical care, and legal support. It seems like their cause resonated with a lot of moms in Hollywood, who showed their solidarity with the campaign by wearing their Phenomenal Mother shirts over the weekend.
We know it’s not the point but…they look cute, right?
More than 65 celeb moms all came together to get the word out about this important cause, donning their shirts and posting about the campaign on social media. If you want to join in and help families at the border while sporting some fresh new threads, the Phenomenal Mother shirts will be available for purchase throughout the month of May.
