Game of Thrones fans can now get COMPENSATION for spoilers

The trending topics on Twitter are flooded by reactions to the hugely popular fantasy show’s latest twists and turns.

Even if you stay offline, there’s always a chance that a chance remark from someone who stayed up to watch Sky’s early screening at 2am on Monday morning will give away a major plot point.

A fair few news sites will carry details of the most recent episode too, making spoiler-avoidance even more of a challenge.

But – just in time of the show’s final episodes – a remedy has appeared.

An insurance company is offering financial compensation for Game of Thrones fans who have had the plot spoiled for them by friends, family or other miscellaneous plot leaks.

“If we receive a good response then we might even roll the policy out for other popular TV shows – next up, Love Island!”

Julia Alpan

Yes, it’s a gimmick. But it’s a brilliant one and so it gets our vote.

Endsleigh Insurance Services has announced the launch of its new Spoiler Cover which will allow fans to claim financial compensation for plotlines ruined by friends, family or social media.

Each week the show, which is watched by millions of people worldwide, airs on HBO in America at 9pm on Sunday – a whole 19 hours before UK fans get to watch on Sky Atlantic at 9pm on Monday.

The difference in time provides numerous opportunities for plot leaks, certain to ruin the long-awaited series for Game of Thrones fans all across the country.

The ridiculously brilliant (or brilliantly ridiculous) new policy will help appease disgruntled fans, by offering financial compensation up to the value of £100 per person for anyone who has their viewing experience tarnished by a spoiler.
