Happy aunt and uncle! Prince William and Duchess Kate are eager to meet their new nephew, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s baby boy, a source tells Us Weekly.
“Will and Kate are very excited and can’t wait to meet the little one,” the source says.
William, 36, and Kate, 37, sent congratulations via Instagram on Monday, May 6, hours after Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, welcomed baby Sussex.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news of the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son today, and look forward to meeting the latest addition to the family,” reads a message posted on Kensington Palace’s Instagram account.
Harry and Meghan announced on Instagram that their firstborn child was born “in the early morning” on Monday. “Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz,” the statement continued. “The duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.”
“The Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage,” Buckingham Palace added in a statement. “Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
Before Meghan gave birth, William and Kate shared with her and Harry the wisdom that they’ve gleaned from raising their three kids: Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 12 months.
“Both of them have spoken to Harry and Meghan about parenting, giving a few bits of advice ahead of the arrival of their baby,” a palace insider told Us in January 2019. “Having been through it a few times, their ‘tricks of the trade’ have definitely been appreciated. Harry and Meghan are totally open to all help and advice!”
William and Kate have been married since April 2011. Harry and Meghan tied the knot in May 2018 and announced the Suits alum’s pregnancy that October.
