GARETH SOUTHGATE showed Callum Hudson-Odoi who's boss in England training after beating the Chelsea star in a race at St George's Park.
The Three Lions manager handed the 18-year-old his senior international debut in the 5-0 demolition of Czech Republic at Wembley on Friday night.
Raheem Sterling delivered a man-of-the-match performance with a stunning hat-trick while Tomas Kalas scored an own-goal and Harry Kane also got on the scoresheet.
Southgate and his side looked in good spirits in training, so much so that the Three Lions boss challenged Hudson-Odoi to a race to show he still has his pace.
The Chelsea winger became the Blues' youngest-ever England international after he was handed his debut off the bench alongside West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website after the game, Hudson-Odoi said: “I’m definitely delighted. I want to thank everybody for helping me get here, and to get the opportunity to play is a massive feeling in front of the home crowd as well.
I didn’t know what to do, but I was delighted, and hopefully there’ll be many more to come
“I couldn’t believe it [when I was told to get ready]. I didn’t think it was real. I was looking around the crowd and everybody looked happy – I couldn’t believe it.
“I didn’t know what to do, but I was delighted, and hopefully there’ll be many more to come.”
England topped their Euro 2020 qualifying group with the Czech Republic rout, but face a potentially sterner test away at Montenegro on Monday.
Despite this, Southgate has insisted his side can reach the next level, with Hudson-Odoi hopeful he can earn another chance to impress.
The 48-year-old said: "I think the rest of the players make it an environment where they can come in and be themselves.
"They don't feel inhibited around the camp, so they don't feel inhibited on the pitch and you could see that by the way they played on the pitch.
"I think we can get better and I think we've got to keep doing that because these guys have got the potential to play at an even higher level than they did tonight."
