Mr Hollamby, who believes the passengers were illegal migrants, told The Mirror that  that the men then began to throw glass bottles and a duvet out of the lorry in an effort to get the driver to stop.

The lorry driver then stopped his vehicle to reveal the eight men waiting at the back.

‘When the driver didn’t stop they started throwing glass bottles from the lorry. Then they threw a duvet out.’

A Home Office spokeswoman told the MailOnline: ‘Home Office immigration officers were contacted by the Metropolitan Police on Friday 25 January, after police officers attended an incident on the M25.

‘Six people were referred to the Home Office.

The footage comes after 12 migrants were spotted on the coast of Kent earlier this month.
