If you’ve ever torn through a carton of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, simply looking for the chunks of doughy goodness, Ben & Jerry’s has some news that’ll make you smile. The ice cream manufacturer recently revealed that it will be testing “just the dough” from its most popular ice cream flavor in bite-size, snackable pieces. Cookie dough diehards can pick from either Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip or Chocolate Chip flavors that are made with pasteurized eggs and heat-treated flour — perfectly safe to eat raw.
The only catch? These dough chunks will only be available in limited quantities to customers at the Vermont Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops; although, if enough demand builds up, there’s a chance this product could make its way to other stores. Fingers crossed these tasty treats end up in our freezers soon — this is a need, not just a want.
