Apple is getting ready to launch its next generation of iPhone s at its annual September launch event, but now it looks like that’s suffered a delay.
The Taiwan Semiconductor Co. Ltd., which manufacturers iPhones for Apple, has had a virus outbreak that may have affected production.
At a company where every second counts towards it targets, this virus has cost several days of delays and about three percent of its third-quarter revenue.
The virus broke out on Friday when software was installed for a new tool, which then got connected to the network and spread.
Apple is expected to release three new iPhone X style models this year which should mean production levels are at an all-time high.
While this virus has caused a delay to the manufacturer, the time should be made up and may not end up affecting Apple’s final release date, which hasn’t been announced yet anyway.
The three new iPhone models are expected to come in the forms of a refreshed iPhone X with 5.8-inch OLED screen, a new larger 6.5-inch OLED iPhone X Plus and an affordable 6.1-inch LCD iPhone.
All three new iPhones should come with a top-notch display and minimal bezel.
This design style has leaked after a coder dug into the iOS 12 beta and found a logo image referring to a larger iPhone, which looks like the iPhone X.
Expect Apple to reveal the new iPhones this September for an on sale date shortly after.
