Pink postpones second Sydney show due to illness

Sydney fans of Pink have been disappointed again after the star announced tonight's show at Qudos Bank Arena will be postponed.

It's the second performance to be called off by the star during her current 35-date Beautiful Trauma tour of Australia.

Pink performs the first concert of her Australian tour in Perth last month.

The announcement follows her postponement of Friday’s show with an upper respiratory infection, although she performed on Saturday.

A brief statement from event promoter Live Nation on Monday afternoon said the call was made "on medical advice".

On Thursday, the pop star tweeted about her frustration in having to cancel Friday's show and asked Sydney followers to recommend places that make "wellness shots and fresh juices" to help her kick the bug.

The following day she took News Corp to task via Instagram for photographing her relaxing on the beach in Byron Bay and running a story with the headline "Pink's Sydney concert cancelled as she chills in Byron Bay".

"What these parasite paparazzi don’t show you, is two doctor visits in Byron on two consecutive days, antibiotics, steroids, Vick’s, nose spray, throat spray, more steroids, NyQuil, a screaming baby in the middle of the night, every night, while mama gives him warm baths and tells her daughter everything is fine," Pink wrote in the caption.

"You can think whatever you want, it’s your right, but I have never taken advantage of any one in my entire life."

She also vowed to perform the Saturday night show, whether or not she was well.

"I will see everyone tomorrow whether I’m better or not, and the postponed show will be rescheduled. As I said, I’m sorry to the real fans who this situation has affected."

Live Nation said details of the rescheduled shows would follow.

Pink still has six more shows to perform in Sydney, including Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday this week.

She then has seven dates booked in Brisbane, before returning to Sydney for three more, and wrapping up the tour with two shows in Melbourne at the end of August.
