Rachel Elliot, 25, suffered serious injuries to her brain, back and pelvis after she was thrown out the back window of a Peugeot 306 when it struck a wall in Bundoran, Ireland.
The mum-of-one has been in an induced coma since the crash last Sunday.
But her relatives have now been given hope – and are asking people to "please keep praying".
Rachel's sister Donna Elliot took to Facebook to update worried friends and family.
She wrote: "We want to thank everyone for your continuous support..Rachel has finally opened her eyes and there is an improvement..please keep praying.”
Shiva Devine and Conall McAleer, both 20, were killed instantly in the smash during the early hours of Sunday, August 19.
Two others who were travelling in the vehicle were also seriously injured.
Rachel, from Irvinestown, Co Fermanagh, was airlifted to Beaumont Hospital from Sligo University Hospital on Sunday evening in a critical condition.
Tragic Shiva Divine was described as a “funny, carefree person” at her funeral mass last week.
And hundreds turned out to pay their respects to the young mum in St Brigid’s Chapel in Ballintra.
Ballintra Parish Priest Joe O’Donnell told mourners that “we will never see Shiva’s smile again, or the funny carefree person that she was”.
The granduncle of Conall McAleer said it was a “deeply tragic day for Conall and his family” as he was laid to rest at St Joseph’s Church in Ederney.
The family of Rachel Elliott previously opened up about the impact her injuries were having on them.
Sister Donna told the Impartial Reporter : “It’s heart-wrenching seeing her there and you can’t do anything. We just want her to pull through, we need her to pull through. She has to pull through for her wee boy Ronnie.
“We are numb, it is a living nightmare. We don’t know if she will make it, it’s waiting game for us. We don’t have any answers."A man in his 20s was arrested by gardai investigating the crash but was later released without charge after being questioned.
Gardai are liasing with the PSNI as part of their probe and are continuing their appeal for any witnesses to come forward.
