DURING a live broadcast in Dunbar, West Virginia, a TV reporter was struck by a vehicle, shocking viewers.
WSAZ reported Tori Yorgey was able to finish her report following the incident.
Who is WSAZ reporter Tori Yorgey?
Yorgey is a 25-year-old broadcast journalist who “wants to cover as much of her home state as I can,” according to a profile published in Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
She is a Penn State University graduate who was born and raised outside of Philadelphia.
Yorgey's broadcasting career has carried her from central Pennsylvania through the Philadelphia region and finally to West Virginia.
She's set to make her debut in the Western Pennsylvania media market on February 1 after she turned down many job offers from around the country to take her new position in Pittsburgh.
What happened to WSAZ reporter Tori Yorgey?
Yorgey, a breaking news reporter for WSAZ TV in West Virginia, was reporting from a scene of bad weather in Dunbar on Wednesday when she was hit by a car and knocked out of view for a moment.
She recovered immediately, telling the on-air anchor that she was alright, sounding shocked but continuing to relay the news.
“I just got hit by car, but I’m OK,” Yorgey said after the impact of the vehicle. “I just got hit by a car, but I’m OK, Tim.”
“We’re all good. I’m OK. That’s live TV for you.”
The driver of the car that hit Yorgey is heard stopping to check on her, and Yorgey tells her she is well.
"I actually got hit by a car in college just like that," she said to viewers. "I am so glad I’m OK."
Yorgey went to a nearby hospital to be assessed and is well, according to NBC's Today Show.

What are people saying about anchor Tim Irr’s reaction to the collision?
A Twitter user noted that when Yorgey was hit by the car, anchor Tim Irr, whom she was communicating with when the accident happened, was seemingly unaffected by what happened.
“Is Tim a cyborg? Zero reaction,” wrote the user.
In response to the user, Irr responded in a tweet of his own, writing: "On the contrary, I couldn't see what happened. Only audio. Then, I wasn't truly convinced she was OK."
