Things will stay fairly dry for Thursday and Friday this week, but things could be changeable.
The outlook may be cloudy at times with the odd shower making an appearance, then overnight frosts will become widespread across the country.
Saturday is expected to be wet and windy, once again as the UK will be battered by more showers and mild temperatures.
Things could also get a lot cooler than of late as the north could experience snow.
UK outlook for Sunday 16 to Tuesday 25 Dec 2018
The middle of December is set to be fairly changeable with a mix of blustery showers, prolonged rainy spells and at times severe winds.
Temperatures in the south and west are expected to lower as cold air comes into the country, and may creep north resulting in some snowy spells.
Heading into the Christmas week the changeable theme is likely to stay, with further spells of wind and rain, but interspersed by some brighter but showery weather.
Temperatures on the whole look likely to remain around normal, although turning briefly mild in any wet and windy spells, but cooler in any drier interludes.
