Vile gang of male and female child snatchers busted over 'fairground kidnap plot to rape, torture and burn a child to death'

The two men and two women have allegedly planned to abduct a girl from a county fair in Michigan, US.

Their aim was to torture and then sexually assault the child until she died, according to MLive.

But a witness heard them discussing the wicked plot and tipped off police.

David Bailey, 37, Matthew Toole, 32,  Talia Furman, 32, and Jayme LaPoint, 19,  have been charged with three counts each of conspiracy to murder, kidnap and commit sexual conduct and are being held in custody until their arraignment.

At the time of their arrest the group were already being investigated for having indecent images of children.

Police described the gang as "one of the most heinous groups of monsters" they'd come across.

A witness told how she was sitting around a table with the foursome when they revealed their evil plan before she called the police on them.

The police report said: "Because Jayme LaPoint could pass for a teenager she would be the decoy

"Jayme would ask a child to use their phone and when they gave it to her she would run away with it."

They planned to throw the phone into a rental car so the child would jump in to get it.

Then they would take her to a cabin in Michigan or Indiana where they would torture her.

According to the police report they planned to burn the child alive if she had survived the torture.

Authorities said: "After the torture their hope is she would still be alive.

"They would then start a fire and put the child in a burning barrel and put the child in it alive to be burned.”

Police said the gang wanted to crush the child's bones and teeth and then set fire to the cabin.

The witness, who claimed to be former girlfriend Bailey and LaPoint contacted police in July 2018, and they were all arrested in September.

Each member faces charges for conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit kidnapping and conspiracy to commit criminal sexual conduct.

If convicted on any of the charges, they could be punished with life in prison.

At the time of their arrest three members of the group were already being investigated for having indecent images of children, Michigan State Police told WOOD TV .

Toole and his girlfriend Furman were arraigned in August after allegedly sexually assaulting a three-month-old girl and a three-year-old boy on multiple occasions.

They are one of the most heinous groups of monsters that we've dealt with

LaPoint had been charged with criminal sexual conduct two weeks earlier after confessing she had made videos in which she sexually abused a girl under two with her husband while babysitting.

State Police Computer Crimes Unit Detective Sargent Gerald Yott, who led the case, told The Battle Creek Enquirer that all of the group were abusing children, including their own.

He said: "They committed acts on their own children and were making sexually abusive material.

"They were all sharing and exploiting their own children and other children."

Police believe they group were close to carrying out their crimes when they were arrested.

After arrest messages were discovered on their phones which described violent scenarios.

One read that the sender wanted to "hurt something", while another said they wanted to "snatch" a girl at a supermarket.

Yott said: "'[They are] one of the most heinous groups of monsters that we've dealt with.

"These are the worst of the worst people

"We like to think that this can't happen here, and it does. It happens here all the time."
