A family say their holiday was ‘ruined’ after their two-year-old daughter allegedly found a bag of cocaine while staying at a caravan park.
Simon Moss, the girl’s father, says he was left in ‘state of paranoia’ after the she discovered the white bag of powder at Thorpe Park in Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire .
The family cut their trip short after two days despite booking their caravan for a week, Grimsby Live reported .
Simon said: "On Tuesday at around 4.45pm we were all about to head out to the entertainment area as a family when my two-year-old daughter discovered a bag of cocaine inside of our caravan.
"I immediately went to the security officers at the park and told them what had happened and expressed my disgust, with him telling me that they would report the incident to the police and look into it.
"The thing is, I then spent the next day chasing up their investigation and heard nothing in return.
"The park did change our caravan for us, but the whole thing left me so paranoid that we left after just two days.
"I just want to warn others using the park about what I found, because it scares me to think about what might have happened if my daughter had been exposed to this drug."
Simon had complained to Grimsby Live that the Park had promised to provide him with a full refund, but never actually returned the full amount of money to him.
However Thorpe Park have said that this was due to an error and he has since had the full refund given to him.
A spokesperson for Thorpe Park said: "We were contacted by a guest who claims a substance was found in his caravan a few days into his stay with us.
"As a result, we offered alternative accommodation for the remainder of the holiday whilst our team looked into this matter. Following refusal of this offer, the guest informed us that he wished to cut short his stay with us.
"We agreed that we would process a full refund. Unfortunately, the incorrect amount was initially processed for which we apologise. This error has now been rectified with the correct sum returned to the guest.
"A full investigation led by our head office is now underway and we are in contact with the guest to seek his assistance as to the exact circumstances of this event."
