Two guardsmen had to be helped to their feet after collapsing in sweltering heats during rehearsals for the Trooping the Colour ceremony today.
The Household Division soldiers, who had been taking part in rehearsals ahead the Queen’s official birthday event next week on Horseguards Parade in London, had to be helped to their feet after fainting in the capital’s heat.
As the troops, who were dressed in full uniform, including a 2lb bearskin, took position the two Guardsmen were seen falling to their knees as temperatures began to hit 77F in London.
With their colleagues maintaining their position as the rehearsals came to a standstill, three comrades were seen rushing to the soldiers aid, removing their bearskin and lifting the soldiers to their feet.

During the day Prince Andrew, The Duke of York, was seen inspecting the soldiers as he took part in The Colonel’s Review.
The Colonel’s Review is the second rehearsal for the Trooping the Colour parade, which dates back to 1748, can be viewed along The Mall or along the edge of St James’s Park.
Earlier this month up to 1,450 soldiers and 400 musicians lined up on Horse Guards Parade off Whitehall to rehearse for the Trooping of the Colour parade which sees regiments of the British and Commonwealth flood the streets of the city to commemorate the Queen’s birthday.
The Major General Review, which takes place two weeks before the Trooping of the Colour, saw a total of 113 words of command be given by the Officer in Command of the Parade.
The official trooping, which takes place on June 8, will see the Queen’s personal troops greet the reigning monarch by a Royal salute.
After the bands have performed a musical ‘troop’, the Regimental Colour will be carried down the ranks and the Foot Guards and Household Cavalry will march past the monarch while The King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, rank past.
