Twitter trolls condemned over vile posts after woman hit and killed by train

Twitter trolls have been condemned over vile tweets posted after a woman was hit and killed by a train.

One of the trolls branded the woman a "selfish c***" while another joked that officials should just leave her body and "run the trains".

Others complained about delays that meant they would get home "hours" later than usual, Essex Live reports.

The woman died at the scene after she was hit by a train between Chadwell Heath and Goodmayes in east London.

Mental health campaigners were outraged by the vile posts.

One wrote: "Nothing about suicide is a laughing matter. Show some respect please."

British Transport Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service raced to the scene after the woman was hit by the train just before 3.30pm on Monday.

Greater Anglia blocked all services until about 5pm while the emergency services dealt with the incident.

But while trains weren’t running, some Twitter users wrote cruel posts about the deceased woman.

One user wrote: "Just as I finish work some selfish c*** jumped in front of a train at Chadwell Heath so now we all have to wait hours to get a train."

Another person wrote: "Burnt a hole in my jacket this morning and now someone’s chucked themselves on the tracks at Chadwell Heath." The post included a a smiling emoji that was upside down.

Two men had a conversation which started with one discussing the delays.

The first user asks: "No service Ilford to Gidea? You havin me on?"

This was followed by someone informing him about the emergency incident that took place.

Throughout the conversation, they receive a reply saying: "Selfish c***."

Then it reads: "Trust leave dem there and run the trains lol."

There were severe delays on all Greater Anglia lines, with commuters gathering in crowds at London Liverpool Street station as they attempted to find a way home.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 3:43pm (on Monday) to High Road, Romford to reports of an incident.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a single responder in a car and an incident response officer to the scene.

“Sadly, the person died at the scene.”

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Goodmayes Railway station at 3.27pm to reports of a person struck by a train.

"Colleagues from the London Ambulance Service also attended and a woman has sadly been pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
