A WEBCAM girl fled Poundland after she was offered cash for sex by a sick shopper who recognised her.
Katy, 26, worked in Birmingham, West Midlands swapped her work as an escort for an online audience because it is 'safer'.
She always understood that she could meet clients in odd places, even the school run.
But she was terrified when someone noticed her at the discount store near her home.
She told The Mirror: "I was recognised by someone I had never spoken to on the site.
"All I could think was ‘If this guy offers me a pound, I’m going to die.
“I pretty much ran out of that shop. I was terrified. I thought ‘I need to get out of here’.”
While she did like "being taken out for nice dinners, staying in nice hotels", there was always a risk "that it could turn nasty".
On one night, a gang member posed as a client, and intended to rob her, with his gang waiting outside to get into her flat.
That incident made her abandon her work and turn to the webcam.
Katy added: "I felt like I was playing Russian Roulette with my safety".
She suffered with anxiety and depression, but believes sex work has helped her overcome those conditions, even with its dangers.
She likes the freedom of not having to call off sick and explain why to her manager, and she also has spare time to chase her music and art hobbies.
But now she warns other women that they will always be at risk, even if they try to be particularly careful with their image.
