Locals in Nonthaburi, central Thailand, claim the massive serpent was a python, which pounced on the unsuspecting tabby named Mi Mi last Thursday at 7am local time.
Disturbing footage shows the beast by the side of the cat’s home crushing the poor moggy to death while trying to wrap its jaws around its body.
Mi Mi’s owner heard the pet’s blood-curdling cries and called the emergency services who arrived shortly after.
The video shows the rescuers prising the snake off the cat before dragging it out into the street.
Sadly, the cat was lifeless having been crushed to death by the snake.
Snake handler Viroj Boonthai said: ''Unfortunately the person in the house only saw what was happening when it was too late.
''There was nothing they could do, and they were afraid to go near the python because it could bite them. They didn't have the equipment to help the cat.
''The python was big. It was about three and a half metres long and it was heavy and powerful.''
The snake was stuffed inside a sack and driven away in a truck before being released back into the wild.
