SEX shame teacher Kandice Barber faces being locked up with some of the UK's most dangerous offenders in a prison dubbed 'Mums' Monster Mansion'.
Kandice Barber, 35, was remanded in custody today and faces being jailed for five years after being found guilty of having sex with a 15-year-old pupil.
The mum-of-three will be sent to HMP Bronzefield in Middlesex which has been home to murderers Joanna Dennehy and Rose West, killer mum Mairead Philpott and child kidnapper Karen Matthews.
Becky Watts' killer Shauna Hoare is currently serving a 17-year sentence at the top-security prison.
Barber arrived at Aylesbury Crown Court hand-in-hand with her husband Daniel this morning before being denied bail.
She will be sentenced on February 15.
A source said: "Female sex offenders are rare and she’ll be expected to embrace her life in prison but she’ll be looking over her shoulder to a certain extent. The nick holds some pretty dangerous women.
"But one thing in her favour will be the pandemic. The prison is operating on a reduced regime so she won’t be interacting with other prisoners as much as she would do under normal circumstances."
Privately-run Bronzefield houses around 527 women and has a branch of the Women’s Institute.
Barber was yesterday found guilty of having sex with the boy in a field and sending him sordid topless pictures of Snapchat.
Miss Recorder Bal Dhaliwal told Barber she hoped she had used her night at home to explain to her children what was to come and to "bid them farewell for the time being".
Gavin Holme, defending, begged the judge to allow her to return home ahead of sentencing as an "act of humanity" so she could home-school her children.
Barber was warned "custody is inevitable" after being convicted by a jury of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Her husband Daniel fumed "it's a joke" as the verdict was read out.
Barber was cleared of two other counts of causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
She was previously convicted of sexual communication with a child and causing a child to watch a sexual act by a person in a position of trust.
Jurors heard how the teacher began messaging the pupil in 2018 after taking his phone number at a school sports day prize-giving event.
Their texts soon turned "sexual" and Barber later picked him up in her 4×4 car before driving to a field.
Barber then had sex with the boy in the secluded area.
The teacher continued to send the boy sordid texts – even while teaching him in class.
One message read: "You cannot make me blush when I am teaching now, poker face."
A schoolboy also claimed he saw messages from Barber, asking: "Do you prefer boobs or bum?”
The boy also showed a pal a shower selfie showing Barber's face and a picture of the supply teacher bending over a bed.
She also encouraged him to delete messages she had sent although the pupil kept photographs of some of the more explicit texts.
During the trial, the court heard Barber kept a secret stash of sexy snaps on her phone in a file called "for my eyes only".
Barber was eventually arrested in March last year – four months after the headmaster saw an X-rated picture of her sweeping through the school.
Her husband Daniel defended his wife in court – telling jurors their marriage is as "strong" as ever.
The delivery driver, who previously referred to his wife as his "rock", said he was unaffected by his wife's conviction for sending X-rated pictures.
Barber's ex described her as a "wonderful girl" and "great mother" who usually follows the line of the law.
But he added he had to call time on their relationship due to her insatiable sex demands, saying: "When it came to sex, she was just incredibly frisky and that's what got her into all this trouble."
