Prince William remained silent as he was asked if he has spoken to his brother during a visit to Wales.

The Prince of Wales, 40, was walking alongside Kate carrying pizza boxes outside Dowlais Rugby Club in Merthyr Tydfil when a reporter quizzed him about Prince Harry.

Having spent the day with the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, the Prince and Princess of Wales were drying off and socialising with climbers as they carried food inside from the nearby Little Dragon pizza van.

But as they approached the clubhouse, a reporter could be heard asking: ‘William, have you spoken to your brother?’ Why did you settle, William?’

A smiling William continued to walk indoors with his wife and did not acknowledge the question.

Prince William has no plans to reunite with his younger brother when the Duke of Sussex visits the UK for the King’s coronation, reports say. The pair are pictured together in July 2021

The Prince of Wales is understood to have no plans to reunite with his younger brother when Harry visits the UK from his California home for the King’s Coronation next week.

Royal analysts have said Harry had a heartfelt talk with his father earlier this month as part of efforts to ease tensions, but has not addressed the ongoing dispute with William.

There will also be very little time for the brothers to resolve their issues during Harry’s very short solo trip.

William had no contact with his brother when he came over with Meghan and the children for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations last year.

Meanwhile, William and Kate are visiting the South Wales Valleys and Mid Wales over the next two days.

The royal couple kicked off their trip today by meeting Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

William, who is patron of Mountain Rescue England and Wales, and Kate had the opportunity to engage in training activities such as abseiling, medical support exercises and a search dog rescue demonstration.

When asked by instructors if he had abseiled before, William said: ‘It’s been a while’ – and before heading over the edge, Kate was heard telling her husband: ‘We’re not racing.’

They also engaged in other training activities such as medical support exercises and watched a search dog rescue demonstrations, while hearing from current and former team members about their experiences spanning the organisation’s six-decade history.

Kate took part in a simulated casualty rescue and when she radioed for a rescue kit it was hastily brought by William, before they both helped put it together so they could evacuate the dummy casualty – who had suffered a leg injury. The royal couple then helped the casualty on a stretcher to safety.

The couple then dried off and socialised with the climbers at the nearby rugby club, where William faced the questions.

The club, which is a feeder club to Cardiff Blues, is a popular spot where the climbers socialise and relax when they are off duty.

The couple’s engagement comes amidst a busy period for the pair, with Kate visiting a baby bank earlier this week to give out essentials to new mothers.

The Princess of Wales made a surprise visit to a baby bank where she spoke of the importance of community initiatives and helped to sort through donations and babygrows for new mothers.
