Police say there is “no longer a threat” after shots were fired Friday afternoon at a manufacturing business in Aurora, Ill.
Aurora Police said on Twitter at about 4:30 p.m. ET that the incident has been “secured,” but did not provide further details.
There was no word on possible injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
An employee at the Henry Pratt manufacturing plant told ABC News he saw a co-worker indiscriminately firing a gun, as well as other employees who had been injured.
The Kane County State Attorney’s Office said on Twitter that multiple officers are on scene and told people to stay away from the area.
The local school district is keeping all of its students in their classrooms as police investigate the situation.
West Aurora School District 129 said on its website that officials are holding all district students in place for their safety.”
The district also says that per directions from the county sheriff, the district has been advised to go into soft lockdown situation and that “teaching will continue with reduced movement.”
