PIERS Morgan has waded into the WAG row claiming Coleen Rooney was naive to post "secrets" to 367 people on Instagram.
The outspoken Good Morning Britain host wrote today he was impressed with how Coleen apparently weeded out the account giving stories to the media.
But he argued Coleen had already opened herself up to an invasion of privacy by being on social media.
Yesterday Coleen told her 1.2 million followers that Rebekah Vardy, had been telling the Press about her “private posts and stories”.
She had blocked all her Instagram followers apart from Rebekah from a private account and posted a number of fictitious tales.
She said she suspected Rebekah and turned detective to try and find out who was leaking stories “without her permission or knowledge”.
Coleen decided Rebekah must be the culprit after the claims made the news, which the pregnant WAG has strongly denied
Her bombshell post went viral and sparked a host of hilarious responses and memes with the pair airing their differences for the world to see.
Piers wrote for MailOnline: "But rather than confront the target of those suspicions privately, she did it in a new Instagram post, explaining what she had done, why she had done it, and sensationally naming her suspect as Rebekah Vardy – wife of another England player, Jamie Vardy."
He writes he is good friends with both women and their husbands, so says he won't be taking a side – unlike many other celebrities and WAGS.
'MODERN-DAY PRIVACY'
Piers adds: "But as the world reels from this shocking tale of alleged betrayal between the high profile spouses of two of fabulous footballers, I am more intrigued by what it tells us about the notion of modern-day privacy.
"Coleen Rooney has two Instagram accounts, one ‘public’ and one ‘private’. On her public one, she has 815,000 followers and she herself follows 121 people or entities.
"On her ‘private’ one, she has 367 followers and follows 617.
"It’s the second account that is at the centre of this furore, because Coleen believes everything she posts there is ‘private’ and only shared with people who she has allowed to follow her, and who she supposedly trusts enough not to repeat anything they see posted.
"And it’s at this point that I raise a slightly quizzical eyebrow."
The mum-of-four's original post, which has been "liked" more than 75,000 times, read: “This has been a burden in my life for a few years now and finally I have got to the bottom of it."
And Rebekah hit back with a long post of her own, saying: "If you thought this was happening you could have told me & I could have changed my passwords to see if it stopped.
"Over the years various people have had access to my insta & just this week I found I was following people I didn't know and have never followed myself."
Each of the stories provided to The Sun was put to Coleen’s representatives before publication, and on each occasion they declined to comment.
A Sun spokesperson said: "Like all reputable media organisations, we don't comment on sources."
