Ocasio-Cortez, 29, posted an Instagram story on Monday that chronicled the first time she used the device in her new Washington D.C. pad.

“They were illegal in NYC for a long time and never really became a thing after the ban was lifted,” she wrote on Twitter Tuesday.

“Other home things many NYers don’t have in their apartments: washer/dryer, dishwasher, central air. (Saving up for a portable dishwasher was one of the best things we did).”
