Missing Minnesota mom Madeline Kingsbury, 26, sent 'goofy' last text on morning she disappeared as family issues plea | The Sun

A MISSING mom of two sent a "goofy" final text to her family the morning she disappeared from her own home, her sister has revealed.

Madeline Kingsbury, 26, failed to show up to work and pick up her children from daycare on March 31, prompting search efforts.

Her sister Megan Kingsbury told Fox News Digital that she last heard from the young Minnesota mom on the morning of March 31.

"We were chuckling about a funny photo exchange between us, and that was the last communication with me, or with any of my family or her other friends," Megan told the outlet.

"Concern really started the evening of Friday, March 31," Megan continued.

"My mom messaged me asking if I had heard from my sister that day because my mom had sent some messages that had no response."

Megan said the sisters were supposed to see each other the next day and grew concerned when Madeline never called to firm up their plans.

"This is very unlike her," Megan said.

"She's not the type of person who would want to take a break and not tell anybody. If she had a problem and wanted to get away, she would come to my house."

INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

Winona, Minnesota Police announced on Saturday the end of the large search for Madeline.

Over 2,000 people have searched for the missing mom this week, the police department shared on Saturday.

She was last seen at around 8am on March 31 – and police grew concerned after discovering her phone, wallet, ID, and jacket that she had reportedly been wearing earlier in the day, according to Police Chief Tom Williams.

He had previously deemed Madeline's disappearance "suspicious" and "involuntary."

As of April 3, she has been deemed an endangered missing person by police in Minnesota.

"Kingsbury was supposed to show up for work that morning but didn't," Winona Police said in a statement.

"Numerous calls and messages from friends and family went unanswered.

"Kingsbury was supposed to pick her children up from daycare that afternoon but didn't show up or make other arrangements.

"All of this is extremely out of character for her."

Investigators have spoken to friends and family collecting information as they continue to search for Kingsbury.

The search has focused on the period between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on March 31, Megan told Fox News Digital.

Madeline's 2014 dark-blue Chrysler reportedly left her home at about 10am and returned at 1.30pm.

Williams said he couldn't;t share who was driving the vehicle, however Madeline was supposed to pick her children up from daycare at 4.30pm.

"Nothing indicates Maddie left on foot or in another vehicle," Williams said.

Police have said there is no suspect in Madeline's disappearance.

Part of the statement police shared on Saturday noted that the search isn't ending and the investigation will continue.

"As we develop new leads and search new areas, teams of law enforcement officers will do targeted searches," police announced.

'WE WILL NOT GIVE UP'

Madeline's friends and family continue to search for her.

Various independent search efforts have also been coordinated.

"It’s hard to come up with the right words to describe the past 2 days; incredible and heartwarming come to mind, but it seems odd to use these words during such a difficult time," a post from the Finding Madeline Kingsbury group read.

"On behalf of friends and family of Maddi, THANK YOU! Whether you have been out searching in groups or on your own, hanging fliers, praying, donating, etc. YOU are incredibly appreciated.

"Another thank you to all of the wonderful officers, team leads, and others working behind the scenes that we have met throughout the past few days. Your dedication and non-stop work day and night does not go unnoticed.

"We will NOT give up until we find our friend/daughter/sister/mother. However, we want to stress how important it is for everyone to give yourself a mental and physical break during this high stress time.
