POLICE have placed London Bridge on lockdown this afternoon after a shooting.
Terrifying footage from the scene shows armed officers pointing their weapons at a man lying prone on the floor before firing two shots.
Witnesses have been evacuated from the scene, with others told to stay inside restaurants and stores surrounding the area.

PUBLIC TAKE SHELTER IN CHURCH
Mike King, a parish councillor at St Magnus-the-Martyr, a church near London Bridge, told BBC News that some people were directed into the church by police.
He said: “They were directed inside by police outside, directing people to go into the buildings nearby, as you know there are a number of offices near to us.
“So everybody has been ushered into offices and buildings close by, we've had a number of people come in to see us.
“We heard a noise that I thought was firecrackers going off earlier on.”

MONUMENT AND LONDON BRIDGE STATIONS CLOSED
Station staff at Monument claimed five people have been injured in the London Bridge knife attack.
The tube station has been closed off as armed police investigate.
London Bridge station is also closed, with no trains stopping or leaving at this time.

POLICE PLEA FOR 'COMMON SENSE AND RESTRAINT'
Met Police sent out a tweet with regards to posting footage online.
They wrote: “Please use common sense and restraint in circulating pictures and videos of the londonbridge incident.
“Help us keep you safe.”

Nicola Sturgeon reacts to London Bridge incident.
She tweeted: “Thinking of everyone caught up in the incident on London Bridge – and, as always, respect and gratitude to the emergency services.”

TERROR INCIDENT DECLARED
Metropolitan Police tweeted: “At this stage, the circumstances relating to the incident at londonbridge remain unclear. However, as a precaution, we are currently responding to this incident as though it is terror-related.
“One man has been shot by police. We will provide further information when possible.”
