An Israeli athlete who survived the Munich Olympic massacre has branded Jeremy Corbyn an anti-Semite who he thinks should ‘disappear from the political scene’.

Professor Shaul Ladany, who competed in the race walking event in 1972 Games, blasted the Labour leader’s visit to the graves of four men linked to the terror attack.

It comes as the Labour leader was forced to deny this week holding anti-Semitic views and insisting he did not lay wreaths on the graves of those considered to be behind the Black September group who murdered 11 Israeli athletes and coaches.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Prof Ladany, 82, who survived the Holocaust as a child, hit out at photographs of Mr Corbyn attending a wreath-laying ceremony in Tunisia in 2014.

British athletes who competed at the games also hit out at Mr Corbyn’s leadership.

Former 10,000m world record holder David Bedford meanwhile said he would find it ‘impossible’ to vote for Labour under his current leadership.

British boxing hero Alan Minter, 66, who won a bronze medal in 1972, said Mr Corbyn should have been ‘honouring those who died… not the people who killed them’.
