Good Samaritan landlord faces £15k bill after vile family destroys home and loots possessions despite letting them live rent-free

Kind-hearted Vim Vijaya offered to help the hard-up family after they told him their previous house had burned down.

But he was left seriously out-of-pocket after discovering his Perth, Australia, rental property had been left looking like a tip.

Food, worms, needles and blood were found among the piles of disgusting rubbish the family left behind, according to 7News.

Mr Vijaya told the channel that professional cleaners had spent four days at the home – and they’ve got more to do before it’s habitable.

He had let the two women and two young children stay in his brand new property for free after being told they’d lost everything in a blaze.

The landlord, who regrets his gesture, told 7News: “They took all my electronic things, TV, my Hi-Fi system, Xbox.”

He said they’d even emptied an entire fire extinguisher on the carpets, and sprayed BBQ sauce across the ceilings and walls.

In the utility room, greasy motor oil was found smeared across the floor.

The family had spent a fortnight there before “disappearing”, leaving piles of their trash, including dirty clothes and even kids' toys, in their wake.

Mr Vijaya says he’s passed on their details to the police.

His costly experience has been met with sympathy on social media, with some calling for the family to be “named and shamed”.

One man posted on Facebook: “Hopefully karma bites back hard.”

Another asked what sort of “grubs do this?”

There have also been many offers of support, with people asking if they can help with the cleaning of the property.

One commented: “I’d be happy to come and clean out the air conditioner for free for you mate.”
