Girl, 3, has epic meltdown after being cast as an angel in school nativity – because she wanted to be SPIDER-MAN

Darcy Raine Cheshire, three, threw a tantrum in the car on the way home from school because she wasn't allowed to portray the superhero in the traditional Christmas production.

Mum-of-five Heather, 37, was patient with her only daughter explaining that Spider-Man isn't in the Bible.

In a video of the adorable moment, Heather can be heard telling Darcy: "It's the story of baby Jesus."

To which the toddler replied: "I don't like baby Jesus. Because I hate baby Jesus. I don't like angels."

The little girl will be turning four on December 25 this year, so perhaps her hatred of baby Jesus comes from having to share his birthday.

The video shows Darcy kicking her feet, waving her arms and screaming as Heather tries to reason with her.

When her mum asks what she does like, if she doesn't like baby Jesus, the little girl answers: "Batman".

She sobs as her mum explains she will be a "beautiful angel" in the play, but Darcy screams "I don't want angel".

When her mum asks what she should do for the costume, Darcy answers: "Get me a Batman outfit with not a skirt one. A normal one with pants and a cape. I don't like angels."

Her class at Hambleton Primary Academy, Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, were told they would be playing the angels in the annual play, but when Darcy's parents showed the school the video of her meltdown, they agreed to allow Spider-Man into the nativity, played by Darcy.

The school have even agreed to give her the line "you should be brave like Batman" in the play.

Dad Aaron, a scaffolding boss said: "She comes out with the funniest things.

"She can be very loud and she's very funny. She is very strong minded for a child of her age.

"The things she comes out with, sometimes she's more like an 18-year-old."
