Meeting the Queen is an exciting honour only a few of us will ever enjoy, but most people who get the opportunity for a quick chat with her find it extremely nerve-racking.
Her majesty has met thousands of people from across the world during her long reign, so she’s well practised when it comes to making people feel at ease.
Her kindness and friendly manner when she speaks to people was widely praised in ITV’s new royal documentary Queen of the World, and many viewers were in tears after watching her.
And there was one part which people really loved – a funny joke she told to make a guest visiting from Tonga feel relaxed.
Her majesty told Elizabeth Kite, winner of a Queen’s Young Leaders Award, she had visited Tonga twice during her life.
When asked if she enjoyed it, the Queen replied: "We had people playing the nose flute outside the window.
"Just the most extraordinary thing. Sounds awfully uncomfortable but they play it rather well."
The guests seemed to enjoy her little joke and were giggling away.
The Queen was welcomed to Tonga in 1953 by Queen Salote, who held a great open-air feast in her honour, where guests sat cross-legged around long, low tables.
Her grandson Prince Harry and his new wife Meghan Markle will visit Tonga during their first Royal Tour later this month.
The couple will travel to Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji during their 16-day trip .
The couple’s visit will coincide with the 2018 Invictus Games, which will take place in Sydney.
