From Gurkhas wielding knives to camouflaged squaddies – incredible images reveal what life is like in the Army

From Gurkhas wielding knives to camouflaged squaddies, these images capture the incredible bravery of Britain’s military.

Some of these captivating images were taken by military snapper Corporal Tom Evans who has won a top prize for this year’s Army Photographic Competition.

The 33-year-old took photos of soldiers at work over a 12-month period and scooped up the award for his images that portray military life and also the best overall image.

He said: "I get to see the whole Army, every trade and every cap badge and see them at work in so many exciting and varied places across the world. That gives us a unique perspective on it all."
