Formula One could be killed off by EU legislation that would make racing cars 'subject to rules of the road'

All vehicles – including those used on private race tracks – will need to have third-party insurance under European Commission plans. The change will hit all levels of the sport, from karting to Mini Moto and Formula One. It could even affect the British Grand Prix which will be watched by 130,000 spectators this week
