Robert Watson, 31, from Ardrossan, Ayrshire, was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being knifed in the buttocks, back and stomach in the early hours of Sunday.
Andrew Charles Fríes, 29, from Gloucester, who was celebrating his birthday in the Spanish party town, was arrested by police at 2am yesterday following the mass brawl.
The fight at the Hotel TRH reportedly involved seven Englishmen scrapping with two brothers.
Watson and his sibling managed to lock themselves in their hotel room after they realised Robert had been knifed, according to reports.
Three other British men – Anthony Muggleton, Robert Stanford, and Kieran Boughton – all aged 26, have been arrested on suspicion of fighting but have not been accused of stabbing.
The arrested men are likely to appear in court in Majorca on Tuesday.
Medics treated the victim at the scene before he was transferred in a serious condition to the Son Espases hospital.
His condition is believed to be stable.
The fight broke out between seven Englishmen and the two Scots brothers at the hotel on Martin Ros Garcia Street, reports newspaper Cronicabalear.es.
Last month, a Brit tourist was rushed to hospital after falling from a balcony at the same hotel in Magaluf after allegedly leaning over the edge while trying to take a poo.
The 20-year-old man was in a serious condition after falling roughly 25 feet from a sixth-floor balcony, landing on his head.
Local paper Cronica Balear reported the lad lost his balance after pulling his trousers down and sitting over the edge of his balcony to do a number two.
