Every pensioner in London will get a free burglar alarm if Tory hopeful beats Sadiq Khan | The Sun

BURGLAR alarms will be fitted for all over-65s in London for free, a Tory hopeful has promised if he becomes Mayor.

Daniel Korski has also vowed to “get tough” and tag repeat offenders to tackle the the capital's burglary blight.

He promised to roll out free home security systems across London for the vulnerable elderly to “keep them and their possessions safe”.

He wants to expand a programme in the West London borough of Hillingdon where the council provides free burglar alarms for pensioners.

The three candidates vying to be the Tory mayoral candidate will go head-to-head for the first time tonight as London members vote on who is best placed to take on Sadiq Khan for City Hall.

Mr Korski will take on fellow Conservatives Susan Hall and Mozammel Hossain for the first hustings.

Ahead of the showdown Mr Korski, a former aide to David Cameron turned tech entrepreneur, said: “Burglary is one of the most invasive and shocking crimes people can experience, especially the vulnerable and elderly."

He says: "The current Mayor has lost focus on the fundamental reality that making Londoners feel safe in their homes is more important than almost anything.

"As Sadiq Khan does book tours and defends his ineffective ULEZ money-making scheme, I pledge to bring new tools and energy to fight this crime.

"Alarms have never been more advanced or affordable. Home security system technology is now one of the best ways to ensure homes are protected from intruders and other threats – and one of the most effective ways of fighting and deterring burglary.”
