NHS England has released the details of the best and worst GP surgeries in the country according to a patient survey.

The findings come from the GP Patient Survey, an ongoing poll that involves more than a million people a year.

Participants are asked questions about the ease of getting an appointment, how easy it was to get hold of a healthcare professional on the phone, awareness of online services, attitude of reception staff and ratings of care. 

Brown Clee Medical Centre in Stottesdon in Shropshire is the best rated GP surgery in England

It also looks at opening times, trust in doctors, and overall experience among other factors.More than 7,000 surgeries across England were rated for the survey.

The best on overall experience is the Brown Clee Medical Centre in Stottesdon in Shropshire, followed by the Mill Stream Surgery in Oxfordshire. 

Hingham Surgery in South Norfolk was third, with the Martins Oak Surgery in the NHS area of Hastings and Rother in fourth, the Mirror reported. 

One hundred percent of patients at the Shropshire surgery rated the overall experience as good or very good.

All patients agreed that reception staff were helpful, and GPs treated them with care and concern.      

More than 99 per cent said the doctor listened properly, and nearly 99 per cent were happy with appointment times. 

Across the country, the survey found that 96 per cent of patients had ‘confidence and trust’ in their healthcare professionals with 95 per cent saying their ‘needs were met’ at their most recent appointment. 

Some 93 per cent said they were ‘involved as much as they wanted to be in decisions about their care’.
