WHILE most people like to pop their spots in the comfort of their own home – it's pretty unheard of that you'd do it while on facetime to your best friend.
But that's exactly what one woman did while visiting the Dr Pimple Popper clinic, where she was getting a "cheese ravioli" cyst removed from her scalp.
On a video posted on Instagram Dr Sandra Lee, also known as Dr Pimple Popper is seen making a small incision into the woman's scalp.
Then a mass of puss is seen seeping out of the scalp as Dr Lee pushes down on the top of the woman's head.
Another practitioner in the room can be heard saying: "Do you want to move your phone up a little so she can see?"
The puss continues to ooze out looking like cheese ravioli until Dr Lee breaks it off to show the patient.
As she is showing the patient the camera reveals that she has been face timing her friend during the procedure.
Her friend on the phone looks both excited and shocked at the results.
Surprisingly though, she managed to remain tight-lipped during the procedure.
Once all the puss is sucessfully removed from the scalp Dr Lee then goes back to the incision.
The next part of the removal makes sure that the cyst won't return by removing its sack.
Once it's removed the sack looks like a chewed up piece of bubble gum.
The patient laughs at the puss and gunk that has just come out of her scalp and doesn't seem phased by it at all.
In response to having her worked watched it real time Dr Lee remarks: “We have become quite a weird bunch, haven’t we?”
Cysts like this one can grow on the scalp due to a build up of keratin.
Keratin is the protein that makes up your hair and nails.
Its primary function is to bind cells together – but sometimes they can clump together with dead skin cells.
They usually aren't painful but if they get too big they can often become unsightly.
They aren't contagious and are not considered to be a major health issue.
While there is no specific cause for a build up – in most cases it can be put down to irritation or underlying skin conditions such as eczema.
Most of the time they go away without treatment and doctors advise that you should seek help if they start to become painful or uncomfortable.
The pops that feature on the Dr Pimple Popper channel range from huge lipomas to pus explosions – and even a horn that looks like a pork scratching.
Earlier this month we revealed another clip from LA-based doctor Sandra Lee which shows her removing a strange coloured cyst.
She described the patients as having a "wet newspaper" stuck in her back.
