Damien Hirst unveils most expensive hotel suite ever with guests paying £75,000 A NIGHT to stay in extreme luxury overlooking Las Vegas strip

The Empathy Suite is a Sky Villa at the Palms Casino Resort in Sin City and is designed by the English artist.

It spans across 9,000 square-feet and over two storeys while featuring many original works of art from Hirst’s series.

Guests can feel like a celebrity while relaxing in the custom butterfly-motif mosaic tiled cantilevered pool overlooking the Lads Vegas strip.

Executives for the resort say the luxurious room offers “the most unique collection of contemporary art at this scale”.

The villa’s floors are paved with Venus grey marble and the high ceilings give the room a more expansive look.

A 13-seat curved bar filled with medical waste decor contrasts with the mismatching objects throughout the villa.

Above the centre bar is Hirst’s Here for a Good Time, Not a Long Time (2018) piece – a marlin skeleton in a vitrine and taxidermy marlin in another.

On the sides of the bar are two opulent lounges and theatre areas that can accommodate up to 52 guests complete with Hirst-designed furniture, drapery, carpeting and serpentine-shaped Italian leather sofas with a butterfly motif.

The sweeping dining area seats eight people, giving guests an ultimate dining experience.

9,000 SQUARE FEET OF LUXURY

Both master bedrooms are fitted with California-King beds, spacious closets and bathrooms with double sinks and movie-star lighting.

The accommodation comes with a salt healing room, a fitness room and two massage rooms.

An outdoor terrace gives guests a chance to feel on top of the world in comfort overlooking Sin City.

It is unclear what the cost of this renovation project was.

The Sky Villa contains six original works from Hirst including Winner/Loser (2018), two bull sharks suspended in formaldehyde in a white tank set into the wall of the suite, Casino Royal (2018) a ten-panel collection of his butterfly motifs on monochrome gloss-painted canvases, a Medicine Cabinet called Vegas (2018), The Winner Takes It All (2018), and Money (2018).

The 53-year-old also designed the furniture for the suite that is part of an ongoing £533million renovation project of the casino resort.

THE HIGH-ROLLER'S CLUB

Hirst designed the luxurious suite in collaboration with award-winning firm Bentel & Bentel.

The English artist’s touch is obvious throughout from a pill cabinet filled with diamonds to the butterfly motifs.

For £75,000 for a one-night stay, The Empathy Suite is only reserved for million-dollar high roller casino players.

On top of the over-the-top suite, guests are given a “highly personalised and exclusive guest experience”.

It includes a 24-hour butler, a behind-the-scenes art tour of the suite and entire property, chauffeured car service throughout the stay and A-list access to Palms' premier amenities such as KAOS Dayclub & Nightclub, the Pearl Concert Theater and the Palms' world-class recording studio.

Guests will also get £7,500 credit to use at the resort.

Hirst said: “I love what Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta have done with the Palms. It's amazing being able to work with them because they are great collectors and totally understand art.

“They have allowed me to create a suite in the hotel and design everything and completely fill it with my art.”

Jon Gray, the General Manager of Palms Casino Resort said: “The Empathy Suite designed by Damien Hirst is the pinnacle of luxury combining museum-worthy art and a truly legendary hospitality experience for the discerning hotel aficionado and casino guest looking for a once-in-a-lifetime Las Vegas stay.”
