The Hollywood-style promo has already gone viral in its homeland after it was released to coincide with national Army Day.
The propoganda clip – titled ‘I Am a Chinese Soldier’ – starts with moving scenes of servicemen departing from their tearful families.
“Peace behind me, war in front of me,” the narrator is then heard saying, describing the sacrifices the soldiers make leaving their loved ones behind.
The video then cuts to a display of China's military prowess – with shots of troops training, fighter jets, tanks and missiles in action.
Some observers say the not-so-secret message behind the highly-polished advert is that a global war is now virtually "inevitable", the National Interest reports.
In March, China unveiled its largest rise in defence spending in three years as it bids to dominate the world with a vast superpower military.
The 2018 defence budget will be 1.11trillion yuan (£127billion), according to a bombshell report issued at the opening of China's annual meeting of parliament
The defence spending figure is closely watched around the world for clues about China's strategic intentions as it develops new military capabilities, including stealth fighters, aircraft carriers and anti-satellite missiles.
China has also been developing a whole next-generation battery of weapons including hypersonic missiles and electromagnetic railguns.
What China's chilling new army video says
Who am I?
I am the one the mother cannot reach at the door.
I am the wife who is reluctant to hang up the phone.
I am a stranger who dares not approach in the eyes of my son.
I am the concern and pride of my loved ones.
Peace behind me, war in front of me.
Pick up the steel gun, we must let go of the children.
Put on the military uniform, we must give up comfort and ease.
Fighting the battlefield, the character of the man.
From the military to the country, there is no regret in this life.
I am a Chinese soldier.
I am a soldier of the people.
I am the guardian of a good life.
Military bosses are bent on transforming the armed forces into the world’s most powerful and have set a target of 8.1 per cent growth.
Sam Roggeveen, a visiting fellow at the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre of the Australian National University in Canberra, said: "The pace and scale of this build-up is really dramatic.
In July China sent a clear message to the world when it staged an awesome display of might in the biggest military parade ever to mark the 90th anniversary of the People's Liberation Army.
Experts says China and Russia now well ahead in space arms race
Hours after Donald Trump revealed detailed plans for his new Space Force an expert claimed China and Russia are already miles ahead.
Dr Malcolm Davis, a defence analyst Australia's Strategic Policy Institute, said Trump's rivals were leading in "military space capabilities".
"The US Space Force is a response to their developments," he told the Telegraph.
"The Chinese and Russians are developing a suite of ‘hard kill’ and ‘soft kill’ counterspace systems, designed to attack and neutralise US and allied space capabilities prior to, or during, a military conflict."
Such systems include weapons that could physically destroy satellites as well as those designed to incapacitate them through a cyber attack.
Apart from the US, China and Russia, the only other country to have credible space weapons capabilities is North Korea, he said.
