Child, four, is knocked down and killed by a van while riding a skateboard in a residential cul-de-sac

A four-year-old was killed this morning after a van hit them while they were riding a skateboard.
The child was knocked down by a white Mercedes Sprinter box van in Oxted, Surrey, on Sunday morning.
Surrey Police said: ‘The child is believed to have been riding a skateboard at the time of the incident.’
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the scene at The Hollies in Hurst Green at around 10.40am.

The victim was rushed to the North East Surrey Hospital in Redhill but was pronounced dead at 12.05pm.
Surrey Police is now appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident to contact them.
They tweeted: ‘Did you see collision in The Hollies at 10.40am today 2/6 in which 4-yr-old child sadly died. Collision involved white Mercedes Sprinter box van+child riding skateboard at time Pls call us w/info or any CCTV/dashcam footage.’
The victim was rushed to the North East Surrey Hospital in Redhill but was pronounced dead at 12.05pm – just more than an hour after the collision
